Throughout her career Sally King has constantly “knocked out” crowds with her infectious enthusiasm for good time rhythm ‘n’ blues and sweet soul music. When Sally takes to the stage it doesn’t take long to realise that it’s time for some serious fun! Not only can Sally belt out a stirring rendition of a heart-felt blues number or get the dance floor jumping with an up-tempo Motown beat, she really loves to perform. Sally brings to her performance a wealth of experience and influences. Her parents were instrumental in getting the Sydney Jazz Club off and running back in the 1950’s. As a child, along side sisters Vivian, Bridie, Madeleine and Fiona, Sally listened to a rich variety of jazz, blues and gospel music. Her inspiration came from such greats as Mahalia Jackson, Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey and Aretha Franklin.
