Liz Martin

"Beneath the Stars" is the debut album from Liz Martin, an original artist who has turned her sound to all manner of projects including blues, electronica, rock and pop.

Liz holds a gold record for her vocals on the track Everywhere I Go on Paul Mac?s album 3000 feet high (2001). The ?beatlesque? ballad featuring Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou from silverchair, received rave reviews and regular airplay on Triple J.

Liz was also writer and lead vocalist with Sydney electronic outfit Spook (Mark Giblin, Paul Mac, Paul Westbury). Featuring Martin?s sexy cool vocals over a twisted burbling world of stretched guitars and crazy beats, their work was released on underground compilation albums by kooky, oddmanout, and creative vibes. Their tracks sat alongside the likes of Tracky Dax, Itchee and Scratchee, prop, Wicked Beat Sound System, b(if)tek, and love tattoo.

A bunch of tracks from the album, "Beneath the Stars", have also been released on compilation albums.

"Fat Cat" appears on the Club Kooky 10 compilation album, also featuring Paul Mac, Wolfmother, The Presets, ollo, dsico, and Buggirl.

"Cold as Hell" appears on A Street Near You. A compilation album distributed by Creative Vibes, A Street Near You is full of fragile melodies, delicate indie pop songs and wafting guitars that mingle with downbeat electronics, featuring Mobius Band, Year of The President, Dykehouse, Telafonica, GB3, Pulseprogramming, Monta, The Woods Themselves, Fourth Floor Collapse, Snorkel, All India Radio, Velure, Alpen, Maximilian Hecker, and Don Meers.

"Walking" appears on Urban Shadows, a compilation album distributed by MGM. Dark, filmic, emotional and dramatic. Urban Shadows is an immersive experience into the power of sound, featuring Inga Lilijestrom, Aronas, Bob Scott, Kath Ellis and Tina Harrod.

"Brightest Light" appears on Bondi Calling 4, a compilation album put together by Andy Glitre and distributed by Vitamin Records. Bondi Calling 4 also features Kingtide, Rhombus, Declan Kelly, Telemetry Orchestra, Jamie Lloyd, and many more.
